Palms

Most of my garden design customers find a home for a palm in their plans. In the south of England, in particular palms have become more commonly used. There are many reasons for this, including their architectural look, their exotic feel and their strong focal presence.

Regarding varieties to us in the UK, it is still quite limited, due to the fact that many are not fully hardy. Frequently used varieties include Chamaerops humilis, Trachycarpus fortunei and Phoenix canariensis. More recently, orders have included Butia capitata and Brahea armata. Pictures of these can be found in the gallery.

Pinder Plants has linked up with two major palm importers from Spain, so that a full range can be offered. Larger loads are available direct. The Spanish Nurseries also specialise in Olives (Olea europaea) in various sizes from patio standards to 100 year old 'gnarled' specimens.

Prices are available on request for all the above items, but details on stem heights and girths and overall heights are required for an accurate quotation.

If you require a list of stock currently available in the UK or you have any special, specific requirements please send me an email. info@pinderplants.co.uk
